May 2011: Renewing Vows
05.01.2011 | 2 comments

As we approach the season of weddings and I prepare to usher two of our local community members into Sacred Union, it seems a perfect invitation to consider vows in our lives. Not necessarily the vows of marriages already made (though they might fit into your inquiry), but the vows that we make to ourselves. What are the vows that you have made to yourself that need to be renewed? The ones that need to be completely discarded? The ones that are ready to be rewritten to address where you are now?

Our month will take us through this internal inquiry, asking that we open transparently to the question: Am I fully living the vows I wish to live? If not, we have the opportunity to consider that fact and redirect our choices. To ask our bodies, through movement, to unlock the Truth about what wants to be revealed and fully lived, and what is ready to be released. As we tidy up those internal, self-directed vows, we will naturally stand in the same set of questions for our vows related to others and external matters. A careful tending of our most honest, truthful personal vows will necessarily inform everything we choose in relationship to others.
